There are abundant ways to get to Nagarkot. The distance between Nagarkot to Kathmandu is approx. 32 km. Some best options are as follows:

Local/Tourist Buses

Local Bus is the most affordable option to get to Nagarkot from Kathmandu. It takes about 40-50 minutes to get to Kamalbinayak, Bhaktapur, and takes another 1.5-hour bus ride to Nagarkot.

Tourist Bus is the best alternative as it offers a comfortable ride. Everyday tourist bus leaves from Kathmandu to Nagarkot for which a ticket booking is required.

Private Transportation

By Taxi: If you wish for a hassle-free ride, there is a taxi option that takes around 1.5 to 2 hours to get to Nagarkot.

By Private Vehicle: Hiring a private vehicle to Nagarkot is one of the best options. You can hire a private vehicle depending on group size and your preference.

Hike from Sankhu/Sundarijal/Changu Narayan

Nagarkot is a beautiful nearest hill station. If you love hiking and nature, the Nagarkot hike is perfect. Traversing through the ancient villages of Sankhu, or Changu Nagarkot, or Sundarijal, the hike to Nagarkot commences. Admiring the surrounding vistas and greenery, hike to Nagarkot and get there.
